The Tutor's role in this family is multifaceted, catering to the unique needs and interests of each child. The Tutor will concentrate on preparing the eldest boy for his applications and online assessments for Canadian high schools, a critical aspect of his educational journey. This preparation will involve not only academic readiness but also building his confidence in social situations, which have been impacted by the family's travels and the pandemic. The Tutor will support him in his interests in history, particularly the classics of the Roman and Greek empires, and in engineering and automotive subjects, while also assisting him in learning Latin. However, the primary focus will be on ensuring that the young man is well-prepared and equipped for the transition to the Canadian education system, with the Tutor potentially beginning this process online before their physical arrival. This tailored approach aims to meet the mother's expectations and ensure the student's successful integration into his new academic environment.

The middle sister, is a confident and musically inclined girl. The Tutor will support her in her musical endeavors, particularly with the flute and piano. It would be beneficial for the Tutor to have musical skills, including playing the flute or piano or having vocal training, to better connect with and support the student's musical growth. Additionally, the Tutor will nurture her academic strengths, fostering a positive and supportive educational environment.

For the youngest, the Tutor will create engaging and interactive learning experiences, focusing on the social aspects of her education. Her enjoyment of communal activities like reading circles will be a key area for the Tutor to develop, helping her build confidence and overcome challenges in forming friendships due to the family's location and her age.

The Tutor's responsibilities extend to physical activities, such as swimming, tennis, and skiing, vital for the children's physical development, confidence, and social skills. The Tutor should be comfortable coordinating and participating in these activities, ensuring a holistic approach to the children's education.

Finally, the Tutor must align their teaching with the family's values, particularly in religion, science, and gender issues, and be fluent in French, considering the family's relocation plans to Canada. The role also involves setting up a structured school day, possibly in a separate apartment that doubles as a classroom, to accommodate the family's lifestyle, particularly as their mother works from home. This position requires a versatile, empathetic educator who can adapt to the family's dynamics, addressing both academic and social development needs while being mindful of the family's educational goals for their children.

The Tutor will be available for an average of up to 40 hours per week. Preparation time will be in addition to this.

The Tutor will be entitled to two consecutive days off per week, normally at the weekend, but it is essential that they understand the need to be flexible regarding the family’s travel plans and other commitments.

The Tutor will have a minimum of 9 weeks off per annum (pro rated over 6 months), to be taken at times agreed upon with the family. The Tutor will be flexible with respect to any changes in schedule, be they travel-related or otherwise and will adapt accordingly. The Client will strive to give up to two weeks’ notice of any planned alterations.

The family will provide separate accommodation near their home in Europe and Canada. During travel, the family will ensure the Tutor has private accommodation. A car for local use will be provided, or a public transport allowance when more suitable. All expenses will be covered by the Client except for the Tutor’s personal phone bill.

The successful candidate will be able to offer more than the minimum requirements of this position and must have been raised in a socially appropriate background. He or she will not only be an excellent educator, but also a good role model: educated and polished, with excellent manners and personal values.

The Tutor must be a fit, healthy and a non-smoker – active and energetic with a love for the outdoors; the kind of person who always makes the most of their environment to enhance teaching and learning opportunities.
