Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (RIY-1011)
This position is not currently available.
A Tutor is required as soon as possible to work with an adult woman in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role starts in December and will last for about 3 months.

The Tutor will help her to prepare for the RHODEC interior design course and either needs previous experience as a course Tutor in this specific program or to have completed the program him or herself. Experience with the business side would be preferable.

Application deadline: Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Student

The woman is already a proficient artist and is seeking to expand her talents into interior design. She is studying the RHODEC International Diploma and has completed the first seven units. She requires assistance to complete the most important final three.

The student has a weekly French Tutor and as such is not unfamiliar to the learning environment. She is seeking a Tutor who can encourage and motivate rather than a classic ‘classroom’ approach.

The Tutor

The Tutor would be expected to work with the woman five evenings a week, with Thursday and Friday as their weekend off. The Tutor will start at 5pm and should expect to stay until around 8pm. Days and times require flexibility to allow time for the woman’s French tuition.

It will be the Tutor’s responsibility to guide the woman through the RHODEC course and advise her creativity. The Tutor will be responsible for preparing material relevant to portfolio essay assignments. Although there are no deadlines imposed by this distance-learning course, the Tutor should set up a reasonable timetable to help accelerate the student through each assignment. It is important that the woman be eased into any ‘classroom’ setting and learning conducted in a mature demeanour.

The final units focus on architecture and the business aspects of interior design. The final unit requires a complete end-to-end design project. All assignments are posted for assessment and accreditation.

Hours, Holidays, and Travel

The Tutor will typically work with the woman from 5 - 8 pm, 5 days a week, with Thursday and Friday as their ‘weekend’ off. In addition to these hours, the Tutor will need to prepare materials required to develop practical examples.

Paid vacation entitlement accrues at the rate of one working day off for every week worked. Any untaken vacation accrued by the end of the contract term will be compensated by payment in lieu.

The Client will provide a driver for the Tutor to collect and return to accommodation on days when Tutoring takes place. If the Tutor is required to accompany the woman, all travel will be provided.

Any other times, transport is the Tutor’s personal responsibility.

The Client will also be responsible for reimbursing Tutors International and the Tutor for all costs associated with getting a visa for Saudi Arabia, and for flights to and from Riyadh.

Accommodation and Miscellaneous

Furnished accommodation with Internet will be provided for the Tutor.

The family will provide, or reimburse the Tutor, for all meals that occur during Tutoring time. All other meals are the Tutor’s personal responsibility.

It does not matter if the Tutor smokes, but he/she should not do so inside any building.

The woman has an academic Tutor for her children who can be called upon for advice on the locale.
