Student
The student is currently seeking an architecture tutor to support her design development. The tutor will ideally be someone with a background at The Bartlett at UCL, who has a strong focus on material experimentation and structural clarity.
Her particular interests lie in working with timber and brick, especially in understanding how these materials can be used to express structural logic and create a clear relationship between construction and spatial experience.
Additionally she would like to develop a more rigorous approach to detailing, model-making, and translating ideas into buildable systems. A key area to improve is how to design circulation, especially using elements like stairs as part of the spatial concept rather than just functional components.
The deliberate use of light to reveal structure, define atmosphere, and guide movement through a space is also of interest. More broadly, she is looking for a tutor who can challenge her thinking, expand her architectural knowledge, and expose her to new references and approaches that can push her work in more ambitious and precise directions.
