A Tutor is required to teach Spanish to a family in central London.

Students

There will be four students covering a wide range of ages and academic experience. There are a boy and girl age 9, a girl of 13, and their mother. The 9-year-olds are complete beginners, the older girl has just started the subject at school, and their mother has a basic understanding of the language. Occasionally the father of the children and the family tutor may join the class.

Role of the Tutor

It is envisaged the Tutor will usually work for 1.5 hours a day once a week at times that are convenient to the family. During this time, he or she should expect that at least four Spanish learners could be present and will need to prepare and tailor materials to suit the range of ages, learning abilities and learning styles of the learners. It would also be advisable to have a couple of spare sets of materials should the father or tutor choose to join the class.

Hours, Holidays, and Travel

This is a part-time, long-term position. The usual hours will be 1.5 hours tutoring per week. This position is for one academic year, probably around 30 weeks. Reflecting the need to prepare and deliver material for four students of different ages and abilities, the fees payable to the Tutor will be 180 GBP per 1.5 hour session.
