Some fluency in Dutch would be useful but is no longer a requirement. What is required is immediate availability.
A friendly, kind, but also well-disciplined tutor is required to work with a girl aged 10. Unfortunately, through a history of accidents and illnesses, the girl’s academic development has slipped, and the school in Amsterdam won’t accept her at her current grade. The family are therefore looking for a tutor, to start as soon as possible, who can work with the girl at home, to bring her up to the standard required for acceptance into grade 6 in August. (There is also a brother, aged 14, and some work with the boy is expected, primarily in Maths.)
Education
Up until August, the tutor will work with the girl around 7 hours per day. It is not expected that this time be spent entirely in formal study – there are plenty of learning opportunities afforded by the locale which should be utilised to provide a rich learning experience.
Other factors
After the girl has been accepted at the school, the tutor will remain working with her, ensuring that she is keeping up, and that good study habits are being developed. There is a reasonable likelihood that the contract may be extended beyond this initial period.
